This book could have been cut in a third. It is a little too much of a "spiritual journey" in one sense and then a review of anatomy, physiology, chemistry, and physics in another. Very little information about aquatic techniques and progressions. Does not really reflect the "therapy" aspect of aquatics.

Water becomes "alive" in Nalu. Far from mundane, an adventure is woven into the research, the fitness philosophy and into the systematized, referenced knowledge of water and the human body/mind. Professional modalities and the spirit of therapy are given new life in the pool. Starting as a trend twenty years ago, aquatic fitness and therapy have become indelible today. This timely reference book offers optimism to those with limited exercise options. Authentic movement patterns are free to develop. Color photographs traverse from the grace and tranquility of aquatic bodywork to the excitement of water boxing and high intensity muscle endurance workouts. Farsighted Nalu looks to the future to prepare class instructors, personal trainers, therapists and bodyworkers for the needs of the forthcoming geriatric population. Quoting Bedgood, "Like passing shadows in a sea of mystery, mortal minds exist without boundaries." Breaking away from the confining limitations of exercise machinery, gravity and stenotic thought, the authors are creators, founders and inventors in an aquatic world of freedom.
