(More customer reviews)There is an astounding amount of information contained in this book and I assume, based on the qualifications of the authors, that most of it is excellent but the profile for oral cancer patients is out of date giving the impression that tobacco, alcohol and poor oral hygiene as the only risk factors for oral cancer. Recent research shows that a significant number of cases are caused by HPV and an increasing number of cases are appearing in patients with no known risk factors. The number of patients under age 50 is also increasing. The numerous line drawings are clear and informative -- excellent models for the surgeon who likes to do a little sketch for his patient, but not particularly realistic.
